Khadija Salim Farhan: Feminist and activist. Born
in Lifta village near Jerusalem in 1932, she was
turned into a refugee alongside her family in the
year 1948 and has lived in the Jerusalem Airport
neighborhood near the Kalandia Refugee Camp.
Farhan joined feminist work in 1956 as a volunteer
at the Women’s Center affiliated with the UNRWA.
She is a founding member of the Kalandia Camp
Women’s Handicraft Cooperative. Since it has
been established, Farhan was elected as a member
at all of its administrative committees where she
held various posts.
Zamaq Abdel Qader: Feminist and activist. Born
in the village of Abu Qash near Ramallah in 1948,
she was the women’s unions’ officer at the UNRWA,
later worked at the Am’ari Refugee Camp where
she started a center for women there. Abdel
Qhader joined the cooperative as a member of
the public committee members in 1967, and was
elected a board member during six cycles. Mrs.
Abdel Qhader is currently a Secretary of Treasury.
Karima Madhi: Feminist and activist. Born in
Ramallah in 1934, she worked for the UNRWA
for over forty years as a public researcher
providing numerous services to the refugee
camps residents, namely: the wives of political
prisoners and martyrs. Madhi has joined the
cooperative in the year 1967, and was elected
as a board member during seven cycles. Mrs.
Madhi is a Secretary of Treasury.
Sahar Farraj: Feminist and activist. Born in the Airport neighborhood near
Kalandia Camp in 1966, she graduated with a degree in Business and Economics
from Birzeit University and Sacred Heart University in the USA. Farraj works in
field of economic development and social development along side local- and
internationalnon- governmental organizations. Mrs. Farraj is a Board Member.
Currently, her work focuses on marketing and quality-assurance of Palestinian
products produced by local charities and cooperatives. Also, she is a board
member at the Palestinian Alimony Fund.
Rasmiya Bader Zayed: Board member, Feminist and activist. Born in the Kalandia
refugee camp to refugee parents who were forced out of their village of Sarees
in 1948. She was elected as a board member in 2005
Fathiyya AL-Tamimi: Feminist and activist. Mrs. Al-Tamini is a Board Member and
a philanthropist. She was born in Jerusalem.
Nadia M’sallem: Board member, Feminist and
activist. Born in Kalandia refugee camp to refugee
parents who were forced out of their village of Deir
Ayyub in 1948.
